Higher Education...
An Ambition That Opens Many Doors !

Education: More is Better...

And it's often described as the key to our future.

If you have a degree in a special field, you are more likely to succeed in that career path...

Find a position that's well suited to your skill set... and be compensated accordingly.

Maybe you're in high school thinking about going to college... consider this:

With a bachelor's degree you'll earn nearly $1 million more over your lifetime than a high school graduate.

A previous U.S. Census Bureau survey shows a college graduate can expect to earn $2.1 million working full-time between ages 25 and 64.

If you continue and earn your master's degree, you can expect to earn $2.5 million, while someone with a professional degree, such as a doctor or lawyer, could make even more - $4.4 million.

Higher Education Pays: See The Numbers !

Education is the Key.

"There is a strong positive correlation between "Higher Ed" and income," "The more you learn determines, on average, how much you earn. The public gets it, and they are rushing to increase their human capital."

Previous U.S. Department of Education statistics show there were 15.5 million students enrolled in postsecondary schools and officials project the number will rise to 17.5 million by 2010.

To put that number of college students in context, there are 15.1 million secondary-school students in the United States. So we have more college students in this country than high school students.

That's dramatic. I think it's pretty safe to say most people wouldn't dream that we'd have more people trying to earn their college degree than we have in high school.

But many people still take education for granted and that causes learning to be seen as a chore instead of a privilege.

Where are You Headed?

Whether you have a clear career path or not, higher learning is going to be the guide to your way ahead. By choosing to attend a higher institute of learning, you'll broaden your decision making choices and expand your income earning options.

You may want to think about:

  • Additional certification courses in your chosen field
  • A Bachelor's degree in a certain subject
  • Multiple Bachelor's degrees
  • A Master's degree
  • A professional degree like nursing or physician training
  • A Doctorate (PhD degree)

Even life experience qualifies as education when it applies to your chosen field of study.

The Benefits of Education

While most of us think "it all stops" when classes end, the real value of learning is what you choose to do with that information.

Higher Education Benefits:

  • Increased marketability
  • Teaching others
  • More networking opportunities
  • Entrepreneur-ship, new school themes, school spirit promotions
  • Increased exposure to new innovations in your field
  • Academic research
  • Interaction with other high achievers

Higher Ed degrees generally lead to increased access to most of life's treasures. Education is often seen as a "door opener" that we might not otherwise have a key to.

The Case for College

Higher Ed is but one measure of success and is complemented by our individual life experiences. We still need "street smarts" and the common abilities to learn about prioritizing our work, meeting deadlines, and working with other people - all valuable and necessary life experiences.

Higher Ed is the best tool we have to help open doors, brighten the path to success and challenge the status quo.

Learning is a process that should never stop... so what are you doing to learn more?
