"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can...." John Wesley
One body of thought suggests motivation and inspiration are often confused. Following this line of thinking we'd need inspiration in order to become truly motivated.
We won't argue the relevance of inspiration to motivation... and consequently I'll use them interchangeably.
But do remember...
Motivating quotes, inspirational quotes, teacher quotes, famous quotes, positive quotes etc... can all be used to help your school promote school spirit.
"Creativity is a type of learning process where the teacher and pupil are located in the same individual...." Arthur koestler

This is where motivating quotes and school themes can come together. So it's important to remember where we've seen those key oneliners or proverbs.
"If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't, you're right."
But how exactly does one choose the "right" motivational quote or inspirational quote?
Sometimes we seek inspiration from motivational people we've heard of or know about.
(I knew you were thinking that)
The first order of business is theme selection. Remember, themes are ideas in motion. You add creatvite thought about your "unique" school culture to my theme templates and BOOM !
If you want to know how to focus your attention in just the right place?... It's the school themes team chemistry of relationships that help build your school spirit!
For this example I've chosen one of my personal theme favorites... "T.W.I.S.T." (Teamwork Will Inspire Students & Teachers)
"T.W.I.S.T" can be all about building relationships and working as a team in a positive learning environment. Now it's time to choose our motivational quote or inspirational quote.
And here's one choice...
Consider the following quote by Henry Ford...
"Coming together is a beginning, Keeping together is progress, Working together is success."
Can you see how these words blend perfectly with the spirit of our TWIST theme?
As simple as it may seem, the right motivational quote, inspirational quote or words of wisdom can have a tremendous impact on your students.
The first thing a motivational quote will do...is get them thinking. (Capitalize on this moment, and have them share their thoughts)
This is also a good time to re-enforce the benefits of your theme, by showing it's relevance to your inspirational quote.
The next thing your quote can accomplish is inspire your students to positive actions...
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover...." Mark Twain
And this is where you begin to see real results!
"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm....." Ralph Waldo Emerson
Before we move on, there's one more thing about motivational quotes or inspirational quotes that's worth mentioning.
Always make them as visible as possible.
Your quote should be displayed as a school spirit sign, or a more popular idea... a school spirit poster.
Place your signs in the hallways, in the cafeteria, in the gymnasium... you could place them anywhere, just as long as they can be seen by a majority of students and staff often throughout the school day.
And remember, your motivational quotes and your school theme go hand in hand.
Choose the right combination and you'll have your school showing spirit in no time at all as you figure out how to motivate students.
And here's another of my favorite inspirational quotes.
"Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow, Don't walk behind me, I may not lead Just walk beside me, and be my friend." - Anonymous
