Let's have some fun... making up new theme acronyms. We can really let the creative juices flow...
Ignite our thought processes a little... and build upon school spirit.
These self creations are intended to inspire heightened school spirit, motivate staff and
students and help teachers administer in a positive learning environment.
Here's a very short tutorial on theme acronyms
Acronyms defined - "A word formed from the initial letters of a name or by combining initial
letters or parts of a series of words."
For example, take the first letter of each word in DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION and we get the acronym DOE.
Not all acronyms are pronounceable words - like "IAW" In Accordance With... instead each letter
is spoken. And, we also have acronyms called initialisms, such as MCI, IBM, etc...
Just to point out that we have nearly unlimited options as we create special theme ideas...
We want them to be relevant to our school or community, and offer some inspiring
motivational content and perspective.
"Here's one we just thought of... The word "PLEASE"... might be used as an acronym
and convert to...
"Please Let Everyone Assist Student Education."
Often you can create a new theme concept, in theme acronym form, that includes your school's initials... everyone feels a part of the process and school spirit rockets ahead.
This theme building, acronym creating process can be a lot of fun and helps students be part of a very positive and rewarding experience.
As you know, it's all about the kids. Whether it's kindergarten, pre-school, grade school, elementary school, middle school, junior high school or high school...
